EUC Combat Sports coming to Warsaw in 2025

The city of Warsaw in Poland will host the European Universities Combat Championship in 2025. The event will take place from 22-25 August 2025.

Three inspection visits were organized from 25-26 October, 18-20 November, and 2-3 December, where EUSA Technical Delegate for Judo, Wieslaw Blach, EUSA Technical Delegate for Karate, Luka Pozgaj, EUSA Technical Delegate for Taekwondo, Shirali Noor and EUSA Technical Delegate for Kickboxing, Romeo Desa, respectively, visited Warsaw to check on the ongoing preparations.

 

 

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, University Sports Association Warsaw present during the inspection visits were: Rafal Jachimiak – General Manager; Magdalena Bryk – Technical Manager; Mateusz Mlynczak – Sports manager; Mikolaj Chudzik – venues/logistic coordinator; Olga Bociankiewicz – karate coordinator; Katarzyna Janiak – taekwondo coordinator; Agata Prokop – kickboxing coordinator; Piotr Siegoczynski – Polish Kickboxing – Sports Association President; Agnieszka Horwatiuk and Piotr Bernat – Polish Kickboxing Association Delegates.

 

 

During the visits, the delegation checked the sports venues, namely the Sports and Recreation Center Wlochy for Judo competition, the Warsaw University Sports Hall and Arena Ursynow for Karate and Taekwondo competitions, and finally the Arche Hotel Krakowska for Kickboxing.

 

 

The inspection visit team visited the accommodation facilities, namely Arche Hotel Krakowska, Poloneza and Geologiczna and Hotel Golden Tulip Airport Warsaw.

 

 

Then they moved to the training venues, GTM and accreditation centres. The meetings were set to discuss and check formal, technical, and logistic requirements with the sport-specific coordinators and delegates of the respective national associations. The formal part of the day ended with a walk in Warsaw Old Town.

 

 

The EUSA team acknowledged the OC's hospitality and praised their efforts in creating a high-quality competition with a focus on a vibrant and supportive student environment.

The event is organized by EUSA, University Sports Association of Poland, University Sports Association of Warsaw, the Polish Taekwondo Federation, the Polish Judo Association, the Polish Kickboxing Association, and the Polish University Karate Federation.

Event Partners: The Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Regional Government of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, and the Służewiec Horse Racing Track. The European Universities Championships are held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship and the Mayor of the City of Warsaw.
The Championships take place at facilities of OSiR Włochy, the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw, the ARCHE Hotels network and Arena Ursynow.
